Lockdown 2.0 guidelines seems a big relief for the common man.Revised guidelines on the measures to be taken by ministries, government departments, state and Union Territory (UT) governments for the containment of COVID-19 was issued by The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), on Wednesday.
In a major relief to the common man, several relaxations have been granted in phase two of the lockdown till May 3.
- Hotels, home-stays catering to those stranded due to the lockdown have been exempted.
- However, wearing of mask or face cover is compulsory in all public places and workplaces.
- Spitting in public places shall be punishable with a fine.
- All public transport remains suspended.
- Schools and Colleges shut up-to May 3.
The revised guidelines for Lockdown 2.0 with relaxations will come into effect from April 20.
Lockdown extension: Services Closed?
- Educational institutions, coaching centers, domestic, international air travel, train services will remain suspended
- Inter-state, inter-district movement of people, metro, bus services will be prohibited
- Public places like cinema halls, malls, shopping complexes, gymnasiums, sports complexes, swimming pools, bars will be shut
- All social, political, sports, religious functions, religious places, places of worship shall be closed
Lockdown extension: What’s open from April 20
*These exemptions are not be applicable in COVID-19 hotspots/ containment zones.
- Highway dhabas, truck repair shops, call centers for govt activities to stay open from April 20
- Shops of agriculture machinery, its spare parts, its supply chain, repairs, ‘Custom Hiring Centers’ related to farm machinery to remain open
- Manufacturing units of drugs, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, construction of medical infrastructure including the manufacture of ambulances to stay open
- Grocery stores, fruits, vegetables shops/ carts, milk booths, poultry, meat and fish shop to remain open
- Permitted services of Self-employed electrician, IT repairs, plumbers, motor mechanics, carpenters.
