Rise in COVID cases in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh

Wile the whole country is just recovering from the shadows of the second wave, the threat of third wave continue to linger in our heads. The recent rise in covid cases in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh suggests an alarming situation for third wave of Covid19.

Chittoor district witnessed around 500 cases per day last week but now it rose to 900 cases per day. Furthermore, the district topped the number of casualties too.

Chittoor saw 1,575 COVID related deaths. The main reasons being people ignoring the COVID protocols. Since the relaxation in curfew began, public movement returned to normal.

Amid the threat of the third wave, people are moving ignorantly. Heavy traffic can be seen everywhere.

The district medical and health administration has initiated to put in more efforts. Unfortunately, because the APSRTC buses have started locally, people are moving freely.

Rumors about cases of Delta-Plus variant emerging from Tirupati spread like wild fire on Friday. The rumors put Officials on the edge. However, they were relieved after knowing that the patient fully recovered.

On the other hand, 30 samples in the neighborhood also tested negative for the variant.
