India see biggest one-day spike 16,922 cases and 418 casualties across India in the past 24 hours.

The spike in coronavirus cases in India continue to create ripples across the country as the central government reported yet another record single-day rise in positive Covid-19 cases, on Thursday.

According to the latest bulletin by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there has been a rise of 16,922 cases and 418 casualties across India in the past 24 hours. As a result, the overall national tally has surpassed 4,70,000.

“A total of 4,73,105 positive cases have so far been reported in the country, which includes 1,86,514 active cases, 2,71,697 who have been cured/discharged and 14,894 deaths,” the Health Ministry said on Thursday.

Maharashtra continues to record the highest number of cases (1,42,900), followed by Delhi (70,390), Tamil Nadu (67,468), Gujarat (28,943), Uttar Pradesh (19,557), Rajasthan (16,009), West Bengal (15,173) and Madhya Pradesh (12,448).
