COVID-19: 8 districts have been identified as Red Zones in Telangana. The Ministry of Home Affairs has declared the districts where Corona virus is widely spread. The lock down which was supposed to end on April 14, is extended to May 3. The Prime Minister extended the lockdown in the wake of rise of coronavirus positive cases in almost all the districts.
Preethi Sudan, an official correspondent of the MHA has written a letter to all the states to take up the necessary steps to curb coronavirus. The Central government has sent all the details regarding the districts to their respective state governments which are under hot spots and the containment areas. The MHA has declared 170 districts as hotspots, 207 districts as orange zones and the remaining as the green zones.
The red zones are divided into two kinds. The districts where there is a chance of outbreak of the virus is called as the (large outbreak), the districts where there are suspicion of high possibility of cases as (Hot spot cluster). The following 8 districts are declared as Red Zonesin Telangana.

- Warangal urban
- RangaReddy
- Jogulamba Gadwal
- Mechal- Malkajgiri
- Karimnagar
- Nirmal
Nalgonda, is another Red Zone area in Telangana identified as (Hot spot cluster)
The Orange zones (Non-Hot spot) districts in Telangana are Suryapet, Mahbubnagar, Kamareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothegudem, Jagithyala, Jangoan,Jaishanker Bhupalapalli, Komarambheem, Asifabad, Mulugu, Peddapalli, Nagarkurnool, Mahboobabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Siddipeta.
The Red Zone (Large outbreak) districts in Andhra Pradesh are
- Kurnool
- Guntur
- Nellore
- Prakasham
- Krishna
- Cuddapah
- West Godavari
- Chittoor
- Vishakapatnam
- East Godavari
- Anantapur
If there are no new cases registered in the next 14 days then the red zones would be turned to orange and orange zones would be turned to green zones.
