COVID-19 is still affecting people in China mostly with some outbreaks in other countries. Whoever is infected may experience mild illness and recover, but it can be more severe for others who are infected with coronavirus. Take care of your health and protect others by doing the following:
Maintain social distancing
When someone coughs or sneezes small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth maybe sprayed which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease, hence maintain at least 1 meter (3.28 ft feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early.
Stay at home if you fare not well. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, visit a doctor immediately and seek medical attention. Follow the directions of your doctor promptly and see that the information is updated to the local authorities so that they direct you to the right health facility and also you can help prevent spread of covid-19 viruses and other infections to others.
Masks have become ineffectual
When it comes to COVID-19 protection, face masks have become ineffectual. No vaccine is found out yet.
Prevention is better than cure. The best way to prevent transmission of coronavirus is washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
Everyone has to know that there’s a right way to wash your hands. It’s not rocket science but it is a multi step process that can involve some patience. All you need to follow along is a sink and soap.
Step 1
Wet your hands with clean, running water. Then, turn off the tap and soap up your hands. Soap is more effective at removing germs than water alone.
Step 2
Work the soap into a lather by rubbing your hands together. Lather soap onto the backs of your hands, in between your fingers and under your nails. Lather causes friction, which kills pesky germs and dirt from the skin. Be sure to clean the nooks and crannies, too because germs lurk there.
Step 3
Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Washing your hands for at least 20 seconds has been shown to remove more microbes than washing for shorter periods does.
Step 4
Rinse your hands well under clean, running water. The clean water would flush the germs from your hands.
Step 5
Dry your hands using a clean towel or air-dry them (or a bit of both).
Sanitizer
Soap and water are your best defenses against viruses, but hand sanitizer can be a substitute, if you don’t have access to either soap or water. Just pump a small glob of sanitizer on one hand and rub your hands together for about 20 seconds. Hand sanitizers won’t get rid of dirt, chemicals or a few types of germs, but they’re better than nothing
