Seven teachers of C S Patil School were suspended in Gadag district of Karnataka. The suspension of the teachers came as a surprise. The reason for the suspension- they allowed students in Hijab to sit for the exam.
According to the Quint, seven teachers were suspended for allegedly ‘allowing’ students in Hijab to write the exam on Monday, 28 March.
Earlier, the Karnataka High court gave a verdict upholding the state government’s ban on the entry of students with hijab to classrooms.
Meanwhile, the teachers have maintained that they allowed the students into the school but not into the examination hall. However, in a video, teachers welcomed all the students by giving them a rose.
