On Friday, three army soldiers were reportedly killed in an encounter with terrorists in Kulgam district, Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a police official, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the higher reaches of the Halan forest region of Kulgam district in south Kashmir after receiving information regarding the presence of terrorists there, PTI reports.
Furthermore, he added, the search turned into an encounter when the terrorists opened fire on the security officers, who retaliated.

The Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, Encounter has started at high reaches of the Halan forest area of Kulgam district. Army & Kulgam Police are on the job. Further details shall follow.
Later they tweeted, “Kulgam encounter update: Three jawans got injured in the encounter. They are being evacuated to the hospital for treatment. Search in the area intensifies. Further details shall follow.”
