COVID -19 is an embarrassment to Humankind. Supposedly, human being is the supreme being in the whole creation. Undoubtedly, he achieved everything on the Earth and beyond. We assume that nothing is impossible to humankind. COVID-19 pandemic broke all the assumptions. The embarrassing and helpless situations followed the pandemic.

Invisible Micro-Organism

No technology or development in any field could stop this invisible micro-organism throughout the world. Unfortunately, nothing in this whole world could stop this virus.
Thousands of people lost their life and many more had to spend days in isolation. When there was a sigh of relief, that the virus slowed down a bit, the second wave started with different strains or mutations.

Second Phase

Many countries are waiting to see the light at the end of the Covid-19 tunnel. Especially, countries in the US and UK. In contrast to this Australia and New Zealand never left daylight. However, Israel is termed to be already out on the other side.

It is important to say that everywhere in the world, the pandemic entered the second phase and is worse than before. The virus is spreading like wild fire. Conversely, the young people are infected now. In most of the countries, the vaccines are administered according to the age.

Sadly, Poland has a huge death toll, Brazil recorded the highest death toll in the second wave. Unfortunately, Brazil has the highest death toll. It is alleged that the death toll is only due to the negligence of President Jair Bolsonaro’s. The same negligence is the cause for the deaths in other countries too.

Surge in New Cases

On the other hand, there is an upsurge of 126,000 new cases in a single day in India. Other Asian countries Iraq, Turkey, Cuba, Argentina and Chile are putting up new peaks in Covid-19 infections. Although 3 million vaccines are administered every day to its citizens, still a surge of new cases is underway.

On the other hand, younger people are falling prey to new variants. Despite the efforts taken by the countries and its leaders they are unable to drive the virus away. The virus is raging more and more.

Economy

COVID-19 shook the world and turned the economy upside down. People lost their jobs and struggled to make both the ends meet. All the countries (Developed, developing and under developed) faced the consequences equally.

Economists all over the world are unable to tackle the situation. India’s economy is completely ruined. New measures and policies are introduced, but it is of no avail. Since the borders are closed for commerce and tourism, the economic recovery may not be possible in the near future.

Mockery of Globalization

The pandemic made a mockery of globalization. The true colors of the world leaders is public now. Their actions and words do not sink. Their promises to help out to the needy nations turns fake. However, we can not judge them now as there is a domestic demand for vaccines.

Apart from the countries and the leaders, WHO and many agencies have to work harder at least now. Their leadership is lacking since the pandemic started. If this continues then, obviously, the pandemic may be drag on for few more months.
