The Centre has taken decision to restore the economy and start the operations of public places such as restaurants, shopping malls, places of worship and offices from June 8 in all places except the containment zones.
 As part of the second phase of Unlock 1.0 plan which will start from June 8, the new guidelines were issued by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday.

COVID-19 cases in India have crossed 2.16 lakh while the death toll is over 6,000. Maharashtra, which is the most-affected state in India, has over 74,000 coronavirus cases while Mumbai alone has over 44,000 Covid cases, highest in any city in the country.

Currently, there are 10 potential vaccines undergoing clinical trials while another 123 candidates are in the preclinical evaluation stage, according to latest WHO data. Novavax has said the US Defence Department will give them $60 million funding for coronavirus vaccine manufacturing.
