The number of coronavirus disease cases reached India recorded 3,66,946 on Thursday after the country recorded 12,881 fresh covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
The updates given by the Union health ministry at 8 AM reveals that 334 deaths in 24 hour period and the overall fatalities to be 12,237. There are 1,60,384 active cases and 1,94,324 cured or discharged.
The death toll has risen after the hundreds of fatalities of Delhi and Maharashtra and taken into account
The first fatality being recorded in March, when the Covid-19 infection tally was a little over 70 has risen at alarming rate.
The first 5,000 fatalities took 80 days, the latest 5,000 deaths came in just 17 days, with more than 2,500 being reported in the last week.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday held the second round of meeting with the chief ministers of states and union territories on the Covid-19 situation, made it clear that there will be not be any further lockdown in the country.
According to the chief ministers who attended the meeting, PM Modi said that they are expected to think about the ways and measures of ‘Unlock 2.0’ and also ways to minimize infection.
