A woman from Assam allegedly killed her husband and mother-in-law in Noonmati, Guwahati, with the help of her two friends. Later she chopped the bodies into pieces and kept them in a fridge. Two incidents happened at two different places.
Vandana Kalita is the main accused. She works as a gym instructor. The incident came to light after 7 months after this tragedy. The police arrested the accused, and interrogation is going on. The two friends were identified as Amarendra De and Shankari De.
According to the police report, the woman, with the help of her two friends, killed her husband and mother-in-law, cut the bodies into pieces and stored it inside a fridge. Two friends were identified as Arup Deka and Dhanti Deka.
During the investigation, the accused revealed that Vandana had killed her mother-in-law first in her house on July 26. Later they killed Vandana’s husband, Amarjyoti De on August 17 last year. Soon after the incidents, Vandana, with the help of her friends, took the pieces to the nearby Cherrapunji and dumped the body parts.
Vandana led the police to the place Cherrapunji, where they dumped the body pieces of her husband and mother-in-law. The police traced bodies and recovered some parts on Monday.
