A special court in Bangalore has sentenced a 22 years old engineering student for five years, for posting derogatory posts on Facebook and celebrated the 2019 Pulwama attack. In the Pulwama attack 40 Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) Juwan’s were killed.
Judge Gangadhara C M of the Additional City Civil & Sessions Judge (Special Judge for trial of NIA Cases) passed this judgement.
The Central Crime Branch(CCB) said on Monday that the resident of Kacharaknahalli in Bengaluru. Faiz Rasheed was 19 years when he was arrested. Since then he had in jail. His bail applications were rejected and he has been in the jail since then. Three and half years in jail.
Engineering student arrested for celebrating Pulwama Attack
The convict, Faiz Rasheed, was a third-semester student of electronics and communication engineering. In a statement issued on Monday, Central Crime Branch(CCB) said, Faiz celebrated the deaths of 40 Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) Juwan’s in an attack in Jammu and Kashmir and posted them on Facebook.
Moreover, the investigating secured evidences when his phone was seized. The investigation team found that he commented on the social media platform for more than a 24 times. He celebrated the deaths of great souls. The court ruled that the offence is against the culture of this great Indian nation.
Furthermore, he is prisoned for five years and has to pay a penalty of Rs.10000/- under Indian penal code sections(IPC) 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion), 201( causing disappearance of evidence of offence) and section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (prevention) Act.
