Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, the mastermind behind the murder of the famed Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, has been detained in California, sources said on Friday.
Goldy Brar has reportedly been detained under the US anti-terror law.
He has been in police custody for the last seven days, the sources said, adding that further details are awaited.
A red corner notice, which allows the arrest and detention of a fugitive abroad, has been issued against Brar.
Brar had claimed the responsibility for the brutal murder of Moosewala on May 29, on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Satinderjeet Singh alias Goldy Brar, a native of Sri Muktsar Sahib in Punjab, had gone to Canada on a student visa in 2017. He is an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Balkaur Singh, father of the late singer, on Thursday announced a “reward” of Rs.2 crore from his own pocket for anyone “handing over Goldy Brar” to police.
Whosoever hands over Goldy Brar, I will give him a reward of Rs.2 crore from my pocket. He is the real murderer of my son, Balkaur Singh said at a programmer in Amritsar.
Balkaur Singh also targeted the state government asking why it was “hell-bent on killing the youth of Punjab”. He questioned the government for showing alleged laxity in taking action against the gangsters.
Brar was also a key conspirator in the Dera Sacha Sauda follower murder incident which took place last month.
