Tweeting about the incident in Hindi, Rahul Gandhi wrote, “The kidnapping and murder of two minor Dalit sisters in Lakhimpur in broad daylight is a very disturbing incident.”

As soon as the news of the alleged murder of the two teenage girls broke, Rahul Gandhi said,  “Women’s safety cannot be expected from those facilitating the release of rapists and welcoming them. ”He stressed on the need for creating a safe and safe environment for women in the country.

Apparently, the Congress chief referred it to the release of the 11 convicts in the Bilkis Bano case. Last month BJP government allowed their release under its remission policy.

The Congress General Secretary, Ms. Priyanka Vadra tweeted, “The killings of two sisters in Lakhimpur (UP) are heart-wrenching. The relatives say that the girls were abducted in broad daylight,”. Moreover, she questioned, “Giving false advertisements in newspapers and television every day does not improve law and order. After all, why are heinous crimes against women increasing in Uttar Pradesh?”

However, the Superintendent of Police of Lakhimpur Kheri informed the reporters that six people who are accused have been arrested in an overnight operation.
