Cyclone Mandous storm to cross North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coast between Puducherry and Sriharikota with a wind speed of 70 kmph around midnight of 9th Dec, says IMD.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday morning issued an alert for North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and South Andhra Pradesh coasts. The weather forecasting agency has predicted rainfall due to cyclonic formation over the Bay of Bengal.
Light to moderate rainfall is likely at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over North coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and adjoining south coastal Andhra Pradesh.
There would be isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over north interior Tamil Nadu & adjoining Rayalaseema on December 9.
