Furthermore, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait expressed his solidarity with the Telangana Chief Minister at the dharna.

Warning to Centre

Rao warned Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “…Don’t play with the sentiments of farmers, they have power to topple the government. History says that all governments have fallen whenever farmers were put in hardship.”

“With folded hands, I urge Modiji and (Piyush) Goyalji, to procure paddy in Telangana like you buy in other states. We will wait for 24 hours for your response to our demand on paddy procurement. After that, we will take a call,” he said.

MSP

In addition to this KCR said that the country’s farmers are not beggars and are seeking minimum support price (MSP) for their produce. He further said that injustice is being done to the farmers of Telangana by not procuring the paddy from the current rabi season.

Mr. Rao alleged that about 15 lakh tones of parboiled rice from the current rabi season has not been procured from the state as promised by the center.

Promised made by Union Minister

He claimed that Union Minister Kishan Reddy and BJP state President Bandi Sanjay instigated the farmers to grow paddy. They even promised to buy the entire paddy grown by the farmers.

Earlier, the state government had asked the farmers to shift from paddy in the rabi season.

Insulting behavior of the Union Minister

Mr. KCR claimed that the Union minister made the MP’s and Ministers to wait for hours, when they approached him about this matter.

Is this behavior appropriate? Is this the seriousness of running the central government?” he asked.

Furthermore, CM KCR alleged that the Centre’s policy is to corporatize the farm sector. He demanded the center to come out with a new integrated agriculture policy.
