Shivamogga SP confirmed that a Muslim vendor was attacked by Bajrang Dal activists and an FIR was registered under relevant sections.
“Bajrang Dal Activists argued and then attack a Muslim vendor. An FIR has been registered at Hosamane police station in Bhadravati” the SP said.
According to the NDTV, police said that some Bajrang Dal activists, campaigned against ‘halal meat’ around 12.30 PM on Wednesday. During their campaign, they allegedly threatened Muslim meat vendor Thousif.
The Bajrang Dal activists asked him to sell ‘non-halal meat at his chicken shop. As it was not available, he told them that he would arrange soon.
This irritated the activists and allegedly thrashed him. Immediately, the vendor filed a complaint with the police. Then the police interrogated five right-wing activists.
In another incident, the Bajrang Dal activists allegedly thrashed and abused a hotelier in Old Bhadravati for not serving ‘non-halal’ meat to them. A case has been registered on charges of abusing the hotelier.
