In a shocking case, Preethi a first-year post graduate medical student allegedly tried to commit suicide after being harassed by senior student Dr.Saif at KMC Warangal, Telangana. She has been admitted at Nizam Institute of Medical Collage (NIMS) hospital for better treatment. The victim is undergoing treatment and is in a critical condition.
According to The Hindu, Narender, the father of victim has raised a complaint against the accused at Matwada police station for harassing his daughter.
Warangal police commissioner A V Ranganath says, Dr.Saif, the accused has been arrested in connection with the case. He has been charged under the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and Section 4 of Telangana Prohibition of Ragging Act. The police analyzed Whatsapp chats and confirmed that the accused targeted and harassed Dr. Preethi.
Warangal Preethi Suicide Case:
As per police investigation, Dr.Preethi, a first year post graduate medical student of Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) in Warangal. She is a Smart and Courageous girl. Dr.Saif, a second year post graduate medical student is also from the same college. He targeted Preethi through the connections with other friends.
Preethi, the victim is said to have questioned Dr.Saif on the messages he shared on Whatsapp group on Feb 18. She said, it is inappropriate to discuss in the group about her. Moreover, if he had any issues with her he should report to the H.O.D. She pleaded to stop posting messages about her in groups and stop harassing her. Saif didn’t listen to her pleas.
Preethi tried to commit suicide and end her life after facing continuous harassment from Dr.Saif. She was found unconscious by the staff and doctors and was admitted immediately to the NIMS hospital for treatment.
Mr. Ranganath said, she found out, ‘what would happen if a healthy person takes specific anaesthesia drugs’ on Google. It might be an attempt to commit suicide. Also added, the police are waiting for toxicology reports from NIMS hospital which will reveals facts in this case.
