A major accident occurred at Navale bridge on the Pune-Bengaluru highway in Pune, about 48 vehicles got damaged. According to NDTV, more than 48 vehicles were involved in the accident.
According to the reports of NDTV, at least 30 people have been injured after a tanker crashed into several vehicles at Pune’s Navale bridge on Sunday. The accident resulted in a 48-vehicle pile-up.
According to the local media , the massive accident occurred after the brakes of the tanker failed. It collided with several tankers as the driver couldn’t control the vehicle.

The accident occurred at 9.00 PM on the Pune-Bengaluru highway. In addition to that, oil spilled onto the road making it slippery. This caused the other vehicles to pileup.
However, rescue teams from the Pune Fire Brigade and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) reached the spot and are taking up the rescue operations.

The accident has left the highway road to Mumbai with jams over 2kms long.
