Bholakpur AIMIM Corporator Mohammad Ghousuddin was arrested and sent to 14- day judicial custody by the Musheerabad police on Wednesday. He was in the news for allegedly obstructing police constables from performing their duty. It is alleged that he had threatened them two days ago.
Earlier, the policemen on duty were ensuring the closure of shops in Bholakpur area after midnight. The corporator along with a few local people had stopped the policemen and allegedly threatened them.
When the video of the Corporator misbehaving with the cops went viral, IT Minister KT Rama Rao asked DGP M Mahender Reddy to take stern action against the corporator. Furthermore, he said that action should be taken inspite of their political affiliation.
Based on a complaint, the Musheerabad police booked a case under Section 353 and 506 of IPC on Tuesday night.
The corporator was arrested on Wednesday and remanded for 14 days judicial custody.
