Fact checker and Alt news co-founder Mohammed Zubair given Interim bail by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ordered the release of Zubair. Zubair was arrested last month for his tweets. The complainants alleged that his tweets hurt religious sentiments of Hindus.
The bench consisting of Justice DY Chandrachud questioned the counsel order the immediate release of the fact-checker. They gave strict orders that he should be released by 6 PM today.
The summary of the Supreme Court’s bail order is :
- Bail in all six UP FIR’s
- All the UP Police FIR’s to be clubbed and transferred to Delhi Police
- Bail on all the future FIR’s registered on the same subject matter
- UP SIT disbanded
- Zubair should be released before 6.00 PM today subject to furnishing Rs.20,000/- bail bonds.
- No restriction on Zubair from tweeting
