Addressing the nation through Mann ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the ‘Seva Shakti’ of India has been visible in the country’s battle against coronavirus.
Addressing the nation through Mann ki Baat, PM Modi said, “The big part of the economy is open now. India’s people are driven to fight the virus. There is a need to be more proactive regarding social distancing. Our population is huge so, challenge is also big.”
“It is important to be even more careful now. Every Indian has played a part in the battle against COVID-19. India’s Seva Shakti is visible in the fight against COVID-19,” PM Modi said.
I have observed numerous photographs on social media. Many shopkeepers in order to adhere to the two-yard distancing have installed big pipelines in their shops. Commodities are released from one end and collected at the other end by the customer.
The last time I spoke with you in Mann Ki Baat, passenger trains, buses, air services were closed but this time curbs have been lifted. Shramik Special trains, other special trains and flights have resumed with adequate precautionary measures. No laxity in maintaining social distancing ‘Do Gaj Doori’
A major chunk of economy is active now. There should be no laxity in maintaining six feet distance (Do Gaj Doori), wearing masks & staying indoors as much as possible. We need to be more vigilant now. Due to everyone’s support, fight against coronavirus is being fought strongly.
PM Modi said the pain that was experienced by the migrant workers cannot be expressed through words. “We are trying our best to support them,” he said. PM Modi also appreciated the railway personnel and governance bodies of the Center, states and local bodies calling them ‘Corona Warriors’ who are relentlessly engaged in safely transporting lakhs of laborers in trains and buses, arranging food, quarantine, testing & treatment.”
“Considering the migrant labourers, the need of the hour is devising a new solution – paradigm. We are ceaselessly taking steps in that direction. Establishment of a migration commission is being deliberated upon,” PM Modi said.
Animals were sighted again due to lockdown. On 5 June, the world will celebrate world environment day. The theme this time is biodiversity. We have had a chance to see biodiversity due to the lockdown. So many birds which had disappeared due to pollution were heard again. Animals have been sighted again.
Many must have thought about whether we can keep seeing this kind of clean air, clean rivers. Many have been motivated to work with the environment.
Rainwater harvesting must be done. Villages must save rainwater. There are many simple ways. If water can be stored for 4-5 days, it will percolate into the earth and boost groundwater.
M Narendra Modi on Sunday said he is doing everything in his capacity to look into the problems of everyone in the nation, adding that the fight against coronavirus is “long one”.
