Neera Cafe at Necklace Road to be inaugurated by CM KCR

The first-ever cafe where Neera will be served is inaugurated with in 10 days by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said Prohibition and Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud and is under construction near Necklace road.

‘Neera’ is plant based natural drink. It is also called palm wine. Mostly it is collected from 2 trees which are Etha chettu( eetha tree), Thati chettu ( Thati tree). It is made from the fermented sap of a toddy palm tree. The one who collects toddy is called ‘toddy tapper’.

On the occasion, the Minister stated that the State has developed the finest Neera Policy in the country to assist the welfare and growth of the toddy tapper community. The roof is suggested to be built using a tensile framework in the shape of a palm tree’s leaf. The support structures are designed to imitate palm trees.

On Thursday, the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) lay the groundwork for the building of a Neera Cafe and an Interpretation Centre at Qutub Shahi Heritage Park. The TSTDC will also build the Interpretation Centre for Rs.45.39 crore.
