In a tragic accident, two men got killed by a speeding taxi when they are trying to rescue an injured bird in Mumbai. The CCTV footage has been viral on social media platforms since morning. The accident occurred at Mumbai Bandra Worli Sea Link on May 30 afternoon.

According to NDTV,  a 43-year-old businessman Amar Manish Jariwala, a resident of Nepeansea Road, and his driver were going towards Malad. They stopped and got down the car to save an injured bird on Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Mumbai.

However, a speeding taxi hit Jariwala and his driver Shyam Sundar Kamat. Jariwala was declared dead on arrival by doctors of a nearby hospital. Kamat died while receiving medical treatment at a near by hospital, on Friday.

 

According to an official from the Bandra police station, the police registered a case against the taxi driver Ravindra Kumar Jaiswar (30). Police arrested him for rash and negligent driving.

Manish mentioned that his son had a lot of compassion for living beings and always cared for birds and animals. Also told the police that they do not want any action against the driver as they don’t want him to suffer.
