Bharat Ratna to Advani: Should he be bestowed with the award?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that BJP veteran Lal Krishna Advani will be honoured with Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India.

Bharat Ratna is the highest honour bestowed by the Indian Republic to personalities who are an embodiment of many values and virtues. They need to have a record of achievements and challenges. Bharat Ratna, the highest honour which was bestowed on Rabindranath Tagore and many more great individuals, who contributed to the country reflects the ideology, the ruling government believes in.

Should Advani be bestowed with a Bharat Ratna?

Firstly, Advani had always been a member of the crowd of the RSS or the BJP. He was only known after Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee came to light. However, the image building of this man started long ago and it was rumored that he was the man behind making Atalji the Prime Minister of India, which is trash.

Ayodhya Movement:

Secondly, he tried to grab the attention of the people by setting out a rath yatra for the Babri Masjid issue or the Ayodhya movement.  In fact, what else can be expected from a banned organization like RSS, where the political leader of a party outrightly created communal tension within two communities for his political benefit?

He is solely responsible for the communist violence on December 6, 1992, which is still called the black day in the history of India. This day just brought ugliness and shame to India.

Dharma Sansad:

After that, Advani was the first one to suggest that the Parliament of India should  consist of saints and sadhus, which he called the “Dharm Sansad’

Advani, the name brings us memories of him initiating the mob in Ayodhya and trying to put up the Bhagwan flag on the Masjid. However, the present government has given him a clean chit saying that he was not even present there. It is widely said that he had to sacrifice his desire to be the Prime Minister of the country for this clean chit.

Role of Modi:

Prior to this, it is rumoured that Advani was the one who supported Modi to become the Prime Minister of Gujarat, but alas! Modi became the arch rival for the Prime Minister’s post and shattered all his dreams.

There were many videos and memes which became viral about how Mr Modi humiliated Advaniji. Hence, Bharat Ratna would be compensated for all his heartbreaks.

Let the people decide, why Advani is being given the Bharat Ratna. Does he really deserve it?
