JNTU Hyderabad: Credits relaxation curbed for students promotion

University’s Regulations 22, the relaxation is curbed. A student to be promoted to the first semester of second-year in an undergraduate engineering course.

According to the Telangana Today, the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU)-Hyderabad has issued a statement. In that JNTU-Hyderabad says that it will not extend credits relaxation for promotion of students from the current academic year 2022-23.

According to the University’s Regulations 22, the relaxation is curbed. A student to be promoted to the first semester of second-year in an undergraduate engineering course.

Similarly, the first year students must secure at least 50 per cent credits out of 40. It is inclusive of all regular and supplementary exams during the academic year 2022-23.

The engineering students should score a minimum of 60 per cent credits out of 80 credits together in the first & second-years to get promoted to third-year first semester.

Likewise, they should secure at least 60 per cent credits out of 120 credits up to third year second semester during 2022-23 to get promoted to fourth-year first semester provided.

According to JNTU-H, “From the current academic year 2022-23 (promotion to the academic year 2023-24). The credit based detention will be applicable to the respective academic regulations.”

However, due to COVID-19, the university relaxed minimum credits to secure promotion to the next year for the undergraduate engineering students. Moreover, for pharmacy students to 25 per cent out of the total credits.

With academics returning to normalcy after the #COVID19 pandemic, JNTU-Hyderabad has decided not to extend credits relaxation for promotion of students from the current academic year 2022-23, Telangana Today tweeted.
