Bengal Chief Secretary Rejects Centre’s Order To Move To Delhi: Sources

West Bengal chief secretary Mr. Bandhyopadhyay was ordered to report to the Department of Personnel and Training in Delhi’s North Block by 10AM.

A row erupted between the Prime Minister Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee last week. Immediately, a controversial order followed.

The Centre passed an order to recall the Chief Secretary to Delhi. However, the Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay may not report to Delhi as ordered.

Mr. Bandyopadhyay had to report to the Department of Personnel and Training in Delhi’s North Block by 10AM.

According to the sources, the chief Secretary is still in Kolkata. It is said that he is not yet relieved by the Bengal Government.
