On Thursday, a mob allegedly stormed and torched Union Minister of State for External Affairs RK Ranjan Singh’s house in Kongba, Imphal, the Manipur government stated. According to the escort commander, the mob numbered roughly 1,200 people.
Luckily, the union minister and his family were not at the residence at the time of the incident.
According to NDTV reports, despite Imphal‘s curfew, the mob managed to reach the minister’s residence in Kongba. At the time of the incident, the minister’s home had 9 security escort workers, 5 security guards, and 8 extra guards on duty.
During the attack, the mob threw petrol bombs from all sides, according to a security guard at the minister’s residence.
Escort Commander L Dineshwor Singh stated we couldn’t prevent the incident because the mob was huge and we couldn’t control the situation. They threw petrol bombs from all angles, including the bye lane behind the building and the front entrance.
Furthermore, he added, we simply couldn’t control the mob. They were nearly 1200 people were part of the mob.
