Bengaluru: On Thursday, the headmaster of a government school in Karnataka was beaten up by some of the female students of the school for allegedly harassing a minor student.
According to reports, the headmaster of Katteri Government High School in Srirangapatna, Karnataka, behaved badly with a minor student in the school hostel.
Immediately after the incident, the girl student informed other students at the hostel, who decided to face him.
The headmaster attempted to lock himself inside a classroom after being beaten by the female students. But the girls pushed in and continued to beat him.
A viral video of the incident showed the female students beating the headmaster with sticks.
According to school officials, the headmaster is a frequent offender who has previously been accused of harassing many such female students.
Police arrived on the spot shortly after the incident had been reported and arrested him. For harassing minor girls, a case has been filed against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. And an investigation is underway.
