Telangana Minister KTR had a war of words on Twitter with the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandviya on Monday.

KTR alleged that Modi-led BJP government did not sanction even a single medical college for Telangana. Soon, the Union Health Minister replied that, Telangana government did not give a formal proposal ever.

KTR listed out the number of medical colleges sanctioned by the Chief Minister of Telangana in a series of tweets. He tweeted that 16 medical colleges were sanctioned and 13 more colleges were in the pipeline.

KTR tweeted, “Now let me tell you how many medical colleges our PM Modi ji sanctioned to Telangana – ‘Zero’, said KTR.

In response to the tweet, the union minister tweeted, “How many proposals for medical colleges have been sent by your Telangana State Government? ‘Zero’.” He further said Prime Minister Modi has sanctioned the highest number of government medical colleges in the shortest time, “without partiality, to those states who made proposals”.

Responding to Mr. Mandaviya’s tweet, KTR posted two communications. It was the communication from the former Union health ministers to the state government in 2015 and 2019.

Adding to this, KTR suggested to the union minister of health, “Wish you had a review before you chose to respond. Attached are responses of your predecessors to the requests from Telangana Health Ministers from 2015 and 2019.” “Telangana Govt has consistently requested for medical colleges but fact is your Govt delivered ZERO.”

However, this twitter war between KTR & Mansukh Mandviya went on for quite some time. The union minister of health said that there is a difference between a letter and a formal proposal.
