Sonia Gandhi joins Bharat Jodo yatra in Mandya

Sonia Gandhi, the Congress interim president on Thursday morning joined the march of Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Mandya in Karnataka. She arrived in Mysuru on Monday afternoon arrived at the starting point of the padyatra,. The Bharat Jodo yatra resumed today on its after a two-day break for Dussehra.

Sonia Gandhi was seen walking in the company of her son and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders. Congress leaders Siddaramaiah, D.K. Shivakumar, and others accompanied her.

She had earlier visited the Bheemanakolli Temple in Begur village and offered prayers on October 5.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi walked briefly . However, Rahul Gandhi didn’t want her to walk for long time, as a concerned son, because of her health.  He forced her to get into one of the cars accompanying them. Apparently, she will address a rally in Bellary.

Sonia Gandhi joined her son Rahul Gandhi’s “Bharat Jodo Yatra” in Karnataka today. She is participating in a public event after a long gap, because of her ill-health.

The Congress began its nationwide campaign, in Tamil Nadu’s Kanyakumari on September 7, entered Karnataka on September 30.

Mr Shivakumar said, “After Vijayadashami, there will be Vijaya in Karnataka. We are proud that Sonia Gandhi has come to walk on the streets of Karnataka. We are coming to power in the state, and BJP is on the way to shutting its shop.”
