Smriti Irani Defamation Case: Congress leaders alleged that Smriti Irani’s 18-year old daughter runs an ‘illegal bar’ in Goa.

3 Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera and Netta D’ Souza were ordered today to delete all the tweets on allegations against the BJP MP and her daughter. All these tweets were posted related to a restaurant in Goa. The High court also summoned them over the allegations made against the BJP MP.

According to NDTV, The Delhi High court ordered the 3 Congress leaders to delete the tweets. Furthermore to appear before the court on August 18 in a defamation case filed by the Union Minister Smriti Irani.

Moreover, the High court said that if the Congress leaders failed to do so, the tweets would have to be removed by the social media company.

Soon after the court order, Jairam Ramesh tweeted, “The Delhi High Court has issued notice asking us to formally reply to the case filed by Smriti Irani. We look forward to presenting the facts before the court. We will challenge and disprove the spin being put out by Ms. Irani.”

The Union Minister sent a legal notice to the 3 Congress leaders and their party last week. Moreover, she sought a written unconditional apology and the withdrawal of allegations against her daughter immediately.
