SAI – The new own WhatsApp-like messaging application developed by Indian Army

‘Secure Application for Internet (SAI), is an in-house messaging application, like WhatsApp, has been developed by the Indian Army and has launched it.

Colonel Sai Shankar, the commanding officer of a signals unit in Rajasthan first developed SAI. The Ministry of Defence said on Thursday that the messaging application supports an end-to-end secure voice, text and video calling services for Android platform over Internet.

The Indian Army has developed and launched an in-house messaging application called the ‘Secure Application for Internet (SAI)’. The WhatsApp-like application has been specially designed by the Army for its personnel to prevent leaking of any classified information.

This initiative is seen as a part of the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan by the Indian Army.
