PM Modi’s three-nation European tour, day 2 – Denmark

PM Narendra Modi visited Denmark on May 3rd 2022, on his second day of the three-nation European tour, he met Danish Prime minister Mette Frederickson. She hosted  Prime Minister Narendra Modi all through his visit to Denmark.

Prime minister Narendra Modi is visiting Denmark for the first time. The two Prime Ministers discussed issues of both regional and global interest.

On the first day of the tour

On the first day of his tour, PM Modi visited Germany. He tweeted on the social media giant  to thank the German government for their hospitality. He also informed that the visit was productive. “My visit to Germany was very productive.

The talks with Bundeskanzler Scholz were extensive, as was the government consultation. I had a great opportunity to engage with leaders in business and the Indian community.”

Grand welcome to our Prime Minister

The Danish Prime Minister received Prime Minister Modi. She gave him a grand welcome. Apparently, she returned the warm welcome and hospitality which she received during her official visit to India in October 2021.

Moreover, the two countries signed the ‘Green Strategic Cooperation’ in September 2020. It enhanced the cooperation between the two countries. Subsequently, the two Prime Ministers reconfirmed their commitment to Green Strategic Partnership.

Issues of Global interest

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and The Danish Prime minister exchanged their views on the situation in Europe and the Indo-Pacific region. They discussed about the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Moreover, they expressed their concern on Humanitarian grounds. They condemned the civilian deaths in Ukraine and agreed to engage on the matter.

Support to India

The Danish Prime Minister recapitulated their support to India. Especially, for UN permanent membership of a reformed UN Security Council. PM Modi reciprocated the gratitude by confirming India’s support. He extended India’s support for Denmark’s candidacy for non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council for 2025-2026.

Agreements exchanged

Finally, the two Prime Ministers exchanged agreements on Migration and Mobility. A letter of intent on Green Shipping, a Cultural Exchange Programmer. They also agreed for  cooperation in the field of skill development and entrepreneurship.

Furthermore, a joint declaration on cooperation in the fields of Animal Husbandry and Dairy was exchanged. Lastly, they agreed about the investments in India to facilitate startup collaboration.

On his last day of the tour, Prime Minister will visit France and meet President Emmanuel Macron. The three-nation European tour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is turning out be fruitful. He is progressing considerably in gathering collaborations and assistance.
