Netizens are  angry after watching a video related to Garba event, which shows policemen dressed in plain clothes flogged muslim men tied to a pole. Surprisingly, the onlookers cheered the action by chanting slogans. This triggered  outrage across the country.

Most of the netizens feel that it is yet another attack on the minorities. Apparently, the incident is recorded on Tuesday in Western Gujarat’s Kheda district. Very soon , the video went viral  on social media.

The video shows, four to five people were beaten one after the other. They were tied to an electricity pole. The policemen dressed in civilian clothes took turn to beat the young boys. Moreover, a policeman was threatening them with a pistol is a holster.

Furthermore, it can be seen in the video that the men can be seen asking for forgiveness. Meanwhile, the crowd around were cheering the police men saying, “beat them, beat then”and “Vandemataram.”

This incident happened after, around a dozen young men, allegedly from the minority community threw stones at a garba event in Undehla village in the district on Monday.

Angry netizens tweeted and trolled the policemen after the incident went viral on social media.

Sanjoy Ghose, a lawyer,  tweeted, “No context justifies such cruel and humiliating punishment as it attacks the very Rule of Law. These people are alleged to have pelted stones at a garba function. The local police has arranged a public punishment for the accused.”

The irony is that even leaders from PM Narendra Modi’s led BJP  have warned Muslim men from participating in the events. They believe that men hide their identity and attend the events to lure Hindu girls.

In fact in the largest democratic country in the world, several instances of Muslim men  beaten up have been reported this year in states like Gujarat and neighbouring Madhya Pradesh have come to light.
