Munugode bypoll election is just a week after Diwali, the major parties are luring the voters with gold.
With the Munugode election fast approaching, political parties are trying out new ways to lure voters. The other day, we saw a leader distributing a hen and a bottle of alcohol during Dussehra.
Taking advantage of the Diwali sentiment, where people purchase gold during the festival, the parties are enticing the voters with gold.
Munugode bypoll: Gold as freebies
The local leaders are visiting households promising many freebies to the voters. They are promising to distribute 10 grams of gold, as a Diwali gift to families with four to six voters. Moreover, to families with fewer than four voters are being promised cash gifts of between Rs.20,000 and Rs.40,000.
One of the candidate has ordered for bikes and televisions to lure the voters.
