Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday promised to form a committee to replicate the Telangana Model with a special focus on farmer welfare. This was revealed during an almost two-hour meeting on Tuesday in Mumbai. The meeting was held between Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and representatives of 14 farmers’ unions. State Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar Nabi, as well as Secretaries of Electricity, Revenue, Agriculture, and other agencies, attended the conference.
Maharashtra government wants to investigate Telangana’s farmer-friendly schemes, which includes the feasibility of implementing 24×7 power supply to the farming community along the lines of Telangana, in addition to initiating farmer-oriented schemes such as Rythu Bandhu.
According to Vinayakrao Patil the group will be made up of representatives from agricultural unions and top state government officials. He stated that the Maharashtra government will be given the time to research and investigate all alternatives, including the costs associated with implementing the initiatives.
“However, if we are not convinced by the committee’s report, we will resume our agitation.” “We will not back down until Telangana’s schemes are implemented in Maharashtra,” Vinayakrao Patil said, adding that the government will reveal the committee’s contents in a few days.
