15th President of India may be ‘first tribal woman,’ counting today

India is all set to get the country’s 15th President. The counting of votes for the recently-held elections started at 11.am on Thursday. The results will reveal who will succeed Ram Nath Kovind, the present President of India.

Apparently, all the ballot boxes from all the states arrived at the Parliament house. According to PTI, the counting began in the room number 63. This room had tight security round the clock.

NDA proposed Droupadi Murmu as its candidate, whereas the opposition proposed Yashwant Sinha as its candidate. However, going by the support extended by the parties during the campaign of the candidates, Murmu may become the 15th President of India. If elected, Murmu will become the first tribal woman President of India.

The election process was held on Monday. Over 99 percent of the eligible electors took part in the process.
