Telangana CM KCR has announced a relief and rehabilitation support of Rs.10,000 per acre to farmers, for the crops damaged by recent hailstorms and unseasonal rains few days back.
Reportedly, a total amount of 228.25 crore will be issued by the state government. The district authorities are directed to disburse the financial aid as soon as possible.
The Chief Minister KCR has directed the officials to take necessary steps to ensure that tenant farmers receive the financial assistance provided by the government.
While talking to the press, the Chief Minister said that the financial support would be offered equally to all crops. The damaged crops are estimated – Standing crops in around 2.28 lakh acres, including 1.29 lakh acres of maize, 72,709 acres of paddy, 8,865 acres of mango and 17,238 acres of other crops.
Apparently, as a protest against the Centre, the entire amount will be given by the State government. The state government does not want to take any help from the Centre. This time as the Central government failed to release crop loss assistance to Telangana in the past. Hence, even the loss of crop reports will not send to central government.
Moreover, the CM claims that the BJP government at the Centre had not implemented any policies to benefit farmers in the country.
