Bajrang Dal Member Killed, Tension Prevails in Shivamogga, Karnataka

A year- old member of the right wing outfit, Bajrang Dal was stabbed to death last night. Tension prevails in Shivamogga, Karnataka after the incident came to light.

The incident was followed by incidents of arson. Police are deployed in large numbers and there are restrictions on public gatherings. Moreover, schools and colleges in the district will remain closed till further notice is issued.

Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai said, the Police are working on the clues they found. However, Karnataka’s rural Development Minister KS Eshwarappa alleged that Karnataka Congress Chief of instigating people regarding the hijab. So much so that it has led to the killing of this young man.

Harsha, who was a Bajrang Dal member was a tailor by profession. Talking about Harsha, the minister said, “He was a very good worker, who worked honestly for the party. Last night, Muslim goons murdered him.”

Recently, DK Shiva Kumar claimed that the national flag was replaced with saffron flag, and around 50 lakh saffron shawls were ordered from a factory in Surat for the anti-hijab protest. The goondaism has increased after he made these statements. We will not allow this goondaism to continue. We will extend all the help that we can to the murdered man’s family.

According to the police, Harsha was allegedly stabbed to death by unknown assailants on Sunday night near a petrol pump at the Ravi Varma lane in Bharathi Colony.
Soon after the incident, some friends and supporters of Harsha came out and spread arson to unleash their anger and grief.

However, the police alleged that at least four persons around 9.00 PM. Though he was rushed to the hospital with severe attack but died on the way. The police denied that the death was linked to the hijab controversy.
