The Telangana High Court on Wednesday ordered the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to send a fresh notice under Section 41A of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) to BJP National General Secretary B L Santhosh after he failed to appear for interrogation.

However, Santhosh was served a second notice on the High Court’s order asking him to appear for questioning on November 26 or 28.

B L Santosh is an Indian politician currently National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party from 15 July 2019. Santosh started as a RSS Prachark in 1993. He had stints in Mysuru, Shivamogga and later in Bangalore. He returned to Shivamogga in the early 2000s.

In 2006 he moved to BJP as the General Secretary for Karnataka. He remained in the post still 2014. In 2014, Santosh was made the Joint General Secretary of BJP

Prasad and Additional Advocate General (AAG) J Ramanchader Rao appeared before the court in the morning and informed that despite the efforts of the SIT and Delhi Police, Santhosh did not appear for questioning. They added that the summons was delivered at the BJP office in New Delhi on November 20.

AAG Rao argued that Santhosh was deliberately delaying appearing before the SIT in order to obliterate electronic evidence, a vital component in the inquiry.

Chitralekha and advocate Pratap Goud have been summoned to appear in front of the SIT on Friday, November 25. Meanwhile, Pratap has moved High Court seeking stay on further proceedings. With the two latest ones, the SIT has issued notices to six persons in the case.

Earlier, the notice were served to four persons – BJP leader BL Santhosh, Dr Jaggu Swamy, Tushar Vellapally and lawyer A Srinivas. But only the lawyer has appeared before the police so far.
