According to a new Pew Research Center survey, 40% of Americans had never heard of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The poll between March 20 and 26 says 40% of adult Americans had never heard of Modi, who is currently serving his second term as the leader of the world’s largest democracy.
As per The Wire reports, 59% of those aged 18 to 29 had never heard of Modi, compared to 28% of those aged 65 and older.
Moreover, the survey also shows that Americans express more confidence in Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy. Surprisingly, more than half of Americans have at least some confidence in Zelenskyy regarding world affairs. At the same time, 21% of Americans feel the same about PM Modi.
Chinese President Xi Jinping (8%) and Russian President Vladimir Putin (7%) are the two leaders in which Americans have even less confidence than Modi. Americans see Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, more negatively than positively: 42% have no trust in him, while 32% do.
