Subhadra Mukherjee , the Bengal BJP resigns. Better late than never she realized that she did not wish to be associated with a ‘make in India’ politics, where people are judged by their religion and not as fellow humans.
Subhadra Mukherjee, Bengali actor-turned-politician, resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party, on Saturday.  Mukherjee joined BJP in 2013, and does not want to be in the party because of leaders like Anurag Thakur and Kapil Mishra. She resigned over the violence in North East Delhi, where at least more than 42 people were killed in clashes between the supporters and opponents of the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Mukherjee had sent her resignation to West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh. She was so stern about her resignation that, she would personally go and resign if her resignation would not be accepted. She said that she had joined the party with a lot of optimism and hopefulness. But she has found that the things weren’t going in the right way in the recent days and could feel a sense of hatred and religious disparities were taking over the ideology which the BJP had in 2013.
The actor turned politician felt that brothers were cutting each other’s throats in the name of religion which was the main reason for her to quit after she heard the news of deaths of over 40 people in the recent Delhi riots.
Subhadra Mukherjee was not happy to be associated with the brand of politics, where people were judged by their religion ,caste and creed  and not as fellow human beings. She was very upset with Thakur and Mishra’s hate speeches and was angry that no action was being taken against them.
Mukherjee decided that she can’t continue to be in a party where action is taken selectively. She was so shaken by the riots that she questioned against her own party leaders.
Subhadra Mukherjee wanted to share that she was not against the citizenship law, but was against the misuse of it. Later she further added that “It is an outstanding decision to provide citizenship to those who are coming from neighboring countries out of distress,” She was saddened by the way it was being misused and playing with each and every Indian’s life on the name of citizenship. She strongly condemned the execution part of the bill as it was creating a sense of insecurity in the minds of the people. This kind of unrest in the minds of people will in turn become an unrest in the whole country, which is very harmful for the unity of the country.
The BJP leader’s resignation was not accepted, but the party Chief hoped that  Subhadra Mukherjee should reconsider her decision stating that the ideology of BJP has never diluted and that the Delhi riots were not the handiwork of BJP.
Did anyone ask him? Is everyone listening?
