Karnataka: Prashanth Mandal, son of BJP MLA caught red handed while taking Rs 40 lakh bribe from a contractor on behalf of his father K Mandal Virupakshappa. He demanded Rs. 80 lakhs from the contractor. A video is going viral on social media.
According to Lokayuktha officials, a case has been registered on Prashanth Mandal accusing him of receiving the bribe.
According to news reports, K Prashanth Mandal son of K. Mandal Virupakshappa, Karnataka was allegedly caught red handed for receiving Rs.40 lakh bribe on Friday. Lokayuktha, the Karnataka government’s anti-corruption watch dog conducted raids on the MLA’s residence.
During the raid the officials recovered Rs 1.2 crore of cash from the MLA’s office. Moreover, the officials recovered Rs.6 crore worth of cash from the residence.
Mandal Virupakshappa, the two-time MLA of Channagiri constituency, Davangere district is absconding. He resigned as the chairman of Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd (KSDL).
