On Monday, Lok Sabha membership of Rahul Gandhi was restored after Supreme Court stays the conviction in the Modi Surname case. He will be back in the Lok Sabha representing the Wayanad constituency.
The Supreme Court stayed Rahul Gandhi’s conviction in a defamation case involving Modi’s surname remarks on Friday.
Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi was elected to the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala in 2019. On March 23, 2023, he was disqualified as a Lok Sabha member. The Gujarat Court convicted him in a defamation case linked to Modi’s surname remarks and sentenced 2 years in jail for him.
