Elon Musk, the international billionaire and chief of Twitter made sensational comments on the ownership of Twitter. According to news reports, Elon Musk, in an interview with BBC said running Twitter has been “quite painful” and a “roller coaster ride.”
The interview was streamed live on Twitter spaces on Wednesday. The interview comes only days after the BBC protested to its Twitter account being described as “government-funded media.”
According to Business Standard, Elon Musk stated that when he took over the company, it had only 8,000 people; currently it has come down to 1,500. Furthermore he stated that firing a person is “not fun at all” and might be “painful” at times.
Musk has made significant modifications to Twitter since his takeover. He has laid off whole teams, including the external communication staff. People were abruptly laid off in a few cases, and they found themselves locked out of their professional email accounts.
“It’s not possible to talk with that many people face to face,” Musk added. He went on to say that Twitter’s mission is to be the “most accurate” platform possible.
