A 19-year-old pharmacy student, who falsely accused an auto-rickshaw driver of an attempt to rape on February 10 and misled the police ended her life in the early hours of Wednesday. Rachakonda police are investigating the cause of suicide.

It may be recalled that an alleged abduction and rape of B. Pharmacy student turned out to be a fake story after cops nailed the lies of the girl. Due to some family issues, this girl wanted to run away from home, hence she staged a drama. Unfortunately, Rachakonda police cracked the sensational case within two hours after they received a complaint from her mother.

Keesara Police responded quickly to a call they received on the Dail-100 helpline from RL Nagar about the kidnap of a Pharma College Student by an Auto Driver, on February 10. On receiving the information, Inspector of Police J. Narender Goud and Keesara Patrol teams rushed to the spot and met with the parents of the victim.

The first information revealed that 19-year-old B. Pharmacy student alighted from college bus at Rampally X Road and boarded an auto-rickshaw with others at 5.40 pm.

The fir called her mother around 6.01 pm, and informed her that the auto driver did not stop at RL Nagar and he was driving at high speed without caring about her loud cries. Later her mobile came out of reach.

After gathering primary information, cops alerted all the police stations and started checking all the vehicles alighting that way. Later they traced the girl near the isolated place at Bethel Church on Annojiguda service road. She was semi-dressed and seemed to be under shock.

Police teams along with her relatives shifted her to nearby Cure Hospital in Jeedimetla for medical care. Based on the complainant, a case under section 365 IPC was registered in Keesara Police Station and an investigation was taken up.

The medical examination and recording of the victim’s statement, appropriate sections of the law were added to the FIR. Police said as the case grabbed headlines, Mahesh M Bhagwat, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Commissionerate, G. Sudheer Babu, Addl.

Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Rakshitha Krishna Murthy, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri Zone, formed special teams comprising Law & Order police, SOT, IT, and SHE teams.

However, police found lots of discrepancies in the victim’s statement. When they questioned her a little strictly, she confessed that due to family issues she wanted to leave her house. Therefore she lied to her mother.

She never assumed that there would be so much of police involvement in her case. “she panicked and out of fear weaved a false story,” police said. From scientific investigation, it was revealed that the victim dropped from the auto at the next stop.

“She started walking in Ghatkesar Police Station limits. She again boarded an auto-rickshaw and got down at Annojiguda and walked some distance. The police team traced the Airtel tower location of the girl’s mobile number and called her. She was asked to share her location which helped us to reach her.

Due to some previous grudges against an auto driver, she has wrongly implicated him in the crime that never was,” police said.

Sources said the girl consumed some pills and was found in unconscious by her parents, who shifted her to the hospital, where she died.
