Kerala became the first state to have its own internet service in India. The Government came up with this new project to provide internet service to reach every individual in the state.
To provide own Internet service to the people in the state, Kerala Fiber Optic Network Ltd, an ambitious IT infrastructure project of the government, received ISP license from the department of telecommunication.
According to NDTV, Pinarayi Vijayan, CM of Kerala on Thursday announced, Kerala is the first and only state in India to provide its own internet services.
The project was announced to fill the digital gap in society and can smoothly commence its operations, the CM said.
