Elon Musk took to Twitter on Friday about “media elite” and “citizen journalism” which stated his thoughts about journalism. Seems like he projected secular thoughts and criticized “elite media”.
Firstly, he spoke about how powerful the elite media is and that citizens can not stop them. Moreover, Elon mentioned his goal to continue “citizen journalism” on twitter. He feels that this will give users freedom to put their opinion/ point without thinking about threats from powerful people.
Secondly, in his tweet he thanked the social media platforms. He said that there is increased competition from citizens over the past several years. The oligopoly on information held by mainstream media will still continue to exist. However, conventional media now needs to examine the information’s accuracy more than before.
