On Friday, Ayyappa Swamy devotees started protesting across Telangana, demanding action against Atheist Bairi Naresh, for derogatory remarks on Lord Ayyappa Swamy.

Bairi Naresh made negative remarks on Lord Ayyappa during a public meeting in the Kodangal Constituency.

The case has been filed under the Indian Penal Code Section (IPC)153A. Naresh allegedly used derogatory language about Lord Ayyappa’s birth and made other disparaging comments at a meeting with several Dalit groups.

The video of Bairi Naresh’s disparaging comments went viral on social media, drawing widespread condemnation from Lord Ayyappa Swami worshippers. Police complaints have also been filed against Bairi Naresh for hurting the feelings of Ayyappa devotees. And making derogatory remarks about the Hindu God.

Naresh was also apprehended and abused by Ayyappa devotees in Hyderabad. He was soon rescued by the police. Bandi Sanjay, the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, blasted the ruling Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government after his video went viral. He demanded that the accused be punished immediately.
